Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding semis, stainless steel and drawn wire) amount to 49 244 tonnes during October 2009.
According to data released by the South African Revenue Service, imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding semis, stainless steel and drawn wire) amount to 49 244 tonnes during October 2009, a decrease of 12,9% compared with 56 518 tonnes during September 2009 and an increase of 9,4% compared with 45 002 tonnes during October 2008.
Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding semis, stainless steel and drawn wire) during the first ten months of 2009 amount to 406 793 tonnes, a decrease of 14,9% compared with the 478 228 tonnes of primary carbon and alloy steel products imported during the corresponding period of 2008.
Imports of primary carbon and alloy steel products (excluding semis, stainless steel and drawn wire) during the twelve months from November 2008 to October 2009 amount to 488 045 tonnes, a decrease of 11,8% compared with the 553 124 tonnes of primary carbon and alloy steel products imported during the corresponding twelve month period.
